Carly Rae Jepson's New Red Hair!

Wow! Carly Rae Jepson has tweeted a pic of herself with, wait for it...bright red locks! We were shocked to see the stars trademark straight black locks have gone! The star who was known for her blunt fringe and black hair have replaced these for a much softer waved hairstyle with the top section pinned back. We are loving the look Carly! ♥

French Twist Hair Tutorial

The French Pleat or Twist as its now more commonly know is a traditional updo that really has stood the test of time. This is a classic updo that can be dressed up or down, given a modern twist by adding a quiff or bouffant and it always looks stunning. This is still a celeb favourite and can often be seen on catwalks and at red carpet events. We love this style because its so easy to create and adding in your clip in hair extensions will really bulk the style out and give it a fabulous shape.

Step One

Pull all your hair to one side. Running from the nape of your neck upwards create a criss cross pattern with bobby pins. This should hold the one side of your hair flat to your head and this will be the base for your twist!

Step Two

Gently hold all your hair and brush this through to smooth out the hair. You now want to start creating your roll. It can be handy if you have some sectioning clips to put these on the ends of your hair to keep the, together. You can use your hand to wrap this around but be sure to pull the ends upwards through the roll!

Step Three

Keep rolling your hair until this is flat against your head and covering the row of bobby pins you secured your hair with earlier. Use bobby pins to secure the rolled hair to your head...you may need quite a lot of these if you have a lot of hair or you have used your extensions.

Step Four

If you have used clips on the ends of your hair you should be able to remove these easily now. For the classic look you want to shape the ends of your hair to give it a round cone like shape. If you are going for a more modern look you can leave the ends tucked away.

And now you have your french twist complete! What do you think of the style? Is it one of your go to styles for formal events? We’d love to know what you think of it :)

Whitney Port's Hair Venus Promos

There are very few products that celebrities are yet to put their name to but we have a new addition! Whitney Port has been announced as the new face...or should that be legs, for razor brand Venus but how stunning does her hair look in these sneak preview promo shots.

The first promo shows Whitney Port’s hair with very subtle beach waves...a style that is a go to look for the LA born star. Her uber long, sun kissed blonde locks are styled with a centre parting which creates gorgeous face framing sections.

The next promo shot is a very different feel to the first. In an evening scenario Whitney Ports hair has been styled into gorgeous vintage inspired waves. Her hair has been given a deep side parting and given lots of volume at the roots. This creates such a beautiful shape to the hair that it makes her look every inch a Hollywood star!

Are you loving Whitney's locks? What do you think of celebrities working with product brands?

Red Carpet Hairstyles at the Met Ball 2013

So the Met Ball 2013 took place a couple of nights ago and this year's theme was Punk: Chaos to Couture...with many stars looking unrecognisable we were super impressed by the red carpet hairstyles and outfits!

There were of course a few that didn’t quite get the look right but overall the theme worked really well and the celebs who got it spot on looked amazing! Here’s our rundown of favourite looks from the red carpet!

Zooey Deschanel didn’t run with the punk theme by choosing a candy coloured floor length gown and side chignon hairstyle but what shocked us was how different she looked! Zooey pulled her trademark heavy bang over to the side, a look that we have never seen the star wear before...we never knew that a fringe could change the way someone looks so dramatically before!

Another celeb that looked unrecognisable was January Jones. Rocking a sequinned mini dress she accessorised with uber eyeliner which was adorned with sparkles. Her red carpet hairstyle was something  you would expect to see on medusa....an array of tightly pulled dutch braids swirling around her head, finished off with a quiffed fringe!

We were shocked to see Nicole Richie with such a stand out red carpet style. Her newly dyed locks appeared to be spray painted with a silver shade...teamed with a high neck white gown the star looked more like she was on the way to a halloween party than a punk but the style certainly stood out!

Kelly Osbourne also looked stunning at the Ball. Wearing her hair in a huge high bun...we’re pretty sure she had help from some hair extensions looking at the size of the bun! She crimped her hair before puttin this up and added a sparkly hair accessory. To finish off her look Kelly added stunning gold and green eye makeup with a dramatic cats eye flick.

And how can we leave out the gorgeous Anne Hathaway. Dying her dark locks bleach blonde and teaming this with a barely there dress, she looked stunning. Blonde really suits the brunette actress!

Who do you think dressed to the theme best? Who’s look did you like best?

The Hair Ribbon Trend

The spring and summer are THE seasons for tons of super cute and girly hairstyles to become super hot trends. None are going to be more popular this year than the Hair Ribbon Trend! Now, we know what you're thinking, hair ribbons take us back to our childhood too but there are so many ways to rock this trend that everyone can pull this one off!

The Hair Ribbon Trend started on the catwalks back in Winter 2011 and slowly we have seen the look start to make its way to the Red Carpets, with celebs such as Zooey Deschanel, Kelly Osbourne and Bella Thorne wearing ribbons. We’re sure this is a trend that will be all over the high st very soon!

We are loving how versatile you can be with your ribbon too! Why not try adding this around the base of a bun...tying off a pretty plait...or use to tie back the front section of your hair for a half up do!

Our tip...avoid the high st and pop into your local haberdashery and you can pick from a huge array of shades and patterned ribbons, what's even better is they are super cheap so you can really stock up!

Will you be wearing a ribbon in your hair this spring/summer?

Unicorn Braid Hair Tutorial

So the Unicorn Braid is such a great style if you struggle with intricate braids! Although this style is called a braid...there is no actual braiding involved! Perfect! The style is gorgeous on it’s own but works perfectly for adding a little more detail to a bun or a braid! This tutorial will be for the basic ponytail Unicorn Braid ♥

Step One

Secure your ponytail where ever you want this to be! Split the hair into 2 sections.

Step Two

To start the Unicorn Braid you need to twist your hair...you will need to twist both sections so it can be handy to ask a friend or family member to hold on to the one section whilst you twist the other! If you only have your own hands then you will get used to twisting with just the one hand! It’s super duper important that both these sections of hair are twisted in the same direction...so for this tutorial I’m going to say to twist these to the right!

Step Three

Now you need to twist the twisted sections over each other : ) Now this time you have to twist the sections in the opposite direct so these need to be twisted left! Be sure to keep a tight grip the the ends of the hair or these will start to unwind!

Step Four

If the ends have come untwisted a little don’t worry, by making a note of the direction these have been twisted in means you can just re-twist them! Secure your Unicorn braid with an elastic!

And there it is! The style is super feminine and perfect for the summer months. The Unicorn Braid has also been called a Rope Braid becuase of the shape of the hair. Use a small section of hair to make a headband, make one section of your braid into one or wrap this around into a chignon or bun! You can also add in some crazy shades for a super fun look!

Blonde V Brunette!

So as the season change many people like to change their hair shades. Drew Barrymore has gone blonde, Jennifer Lawrence has added some lighter blonde highlights to her hair but Reese Witherspoon has decided to go back to her dark locks!

With the preview of the new Beyonce H&M Ad last week and her continuously changing hair shades throughout it got us thinking about the celebs who just can't make up their minds on whether their a blonde or a brunette!

We’ve compiled a list of our fav chameleon hair shade stars! What shade do you think suits them best? Blonde or Brunette?

Drew Barrymore's New Hair

Drew Barrymore’s hairstyle has made a huge jump back in time...she has been seen out and about sporting a very different but very familiar look!  There are many 90’s hairstyle trends on the horizon for the rest of the year...the grungy look, uber volume and the headband are soon to be everywhere.

Drew spent a whopping 5 hours at the salon before she emerged with a look we’ve seen on her before. Drew’s hair was transformed from a dark brunette to a sunny blonde with light blonde highlights. What was so distinctively 90’s though was the style rather than shade....a super messy texture and voluminous flick over to the one side! Drew Barrymore’s new hair was very much Poison Ivy, a character she played back in the 1992.

What do you think of the 90’s style? Is it something you’ll be trying out?

Red Carpet hairstyles at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner

The stars were out in force for the White House Correspondents' Association dinner over the weekend. It was great to see so many varying red carpet hairstyles too! There weren’t loads of updo’s or loads of down do’s just a really good mix! Here’s the rundown of our favourite looks of the night.

Sofia Vergara has made many best dressed lists from this night and we can see why. Her floor length teal gown was simply stunning and her hair didn’t disappoint us! Her long butterscotch locks were gorgeously styled in voluminous big waves that had tons of movement and looked really glossy! This is the perfect red carpet down dos!

Another gorgeous down do from the night was Katy Perry. Opting for a more vintage inspired style, Katy’s hair was giving veronica lake style 1940’s waves. This style team with minimal makeup and a floor length green dress with branch detail has Katy looking every inch the Hollywood starlet!

One of our most loved hairstyles for the summer was also on show in washington for the event. Hayden Panettiere wore her hair in a crown/halo braid and teamed this with a summery lemon cutaway gown.  This hairstyle looks really impressive and is really quite easy to do! Check out our tutorial on this!

Our last favourite style from the event is the super cute Natalie Dormer. Leaving her Game of Thrones character, Margaery Tyrell’s dark locks on the show the blonde actress chose a half up style. The ends of her hair were curled and top top section pulled back. This was given loads of lift at the root for a  60’s boho feel!

Who had your favourite hairstyles from the event?
