Celebrity Hairstyles at the Capital FM Summetime Ball
The
Capital FM Summertime Ball 2012 has just passed and we have to say, we
LOVED it and we loved the celebrity hairstyles too! The ball was full of
superstars from the UK and across the globe, it was certainly an event
not to be missed!We
thought we’d give you a round-up of our favourite celebrity hairstyles
from the lovely ladies present on the day (you should know the drill by
now ;)) so let’s crack on...Cheryl
Cole proved to steal the show on Saturday; whether this was for all the
right reasons for her lovely hair or for the wrong reasons with her
extravagant performance outfit. We can’t quite make up our minds on
whether we really like this outfit choice?!?! Hmmmm … Anyhow, Cheryl
Cole’s hair still looked as stunning as ever; her hair was styled into
an on-trend high ponytail complete with soft boho waves throughout which
is a hot hot HOT look for summer! Girls take note! Complete with
sultry make up, Cheryl looked every inch the star as she performed in
front of thousands in Wembley Arena! We’re pretty proud she’s a Brit
<3After
Cheryl Cole performed at the Capital FM Summertime Ball 2012, her look
was a little more toned down; Cheryl wore a cute coral dress and she
kept her hair back and out of the way into a chic big high bun! Another
bang-on-trend look for the summer! LOVING it <3Both
of these looks are super easy to re-create if you have long hair, if
not, clipping in some hair extensions for added length will make styling
TONS easier :) Another
lady we think stole the show at the Capital FM Summertime Ball 2012 was
the delightful and show-stopping Jessie J! She was looking way too cute
with her newly cropped ‘do! Jessie J’s hair was styled with subtle
playful curls which is a mile away from her usual poker straight style,
but we seriously approve of the texture!! YAY for Jessie!! <3 Curls
and waves are soooo on-trend for the summertime, get yourselves in on
the act too ladies!! We’re
also completely in L.O.V.E with Jessie J’s studded shorts which she
performed in at the Capital FM Summertime Ball 2012; they are so chic
and SO on trend ... we want a pair SO.BAD. eeek! Another thing that
caught our attention was Jessie J’s magnificent voice, she’s super cool
at performing live and we love her that little bit more for it! <3Another
lady who switched up her look for the Summertime Ball was the daring
colour chameleon Katy Perry! Although she kept her shade to a subtle
black this time, the blunt bob was an attention grabber instead. Katy
Perry’s hair was teamed with a statement cropped fringe … we can’t
decide whether this is a hair DO or hair DON’T!?!?! Hmmm! We’re pretty
sure Katy Perry just used a wig though and didn’t actually chop off her
lovely locks as she was seen partying out later that evening with hair
falling just below her shoulders! I know ‘phew’ is what some of you are
probably thinking ;) We do love Katy Perry and her gutsy attitude towards her hair, she isn’t afraid of switching it up a little and we LOVE that! A
new fond favourite of ours is the little starlet that is Rita Ora!! We
LOVE the lighter hair on her tanned skin and we also ADORE the curls
which she always tends to style her hair with! How does she keep them
intact ALL.OF.THE.TIME? Reveal your secret now Miss Ora...<3Rita
Ora’s hair has been almost Bunny Blonde for some time now, however it
looked as though she has a peach shadow effect going on at the Capital
FM Summertime Ball...What do you think guys!?! Are my eyes playing
tricks on me or?!?So
whose look are you guys loving? Did you go to the ball too? Who was
your favourite? Let us know by popping a comment below or tweet us! :)

Double Waterfall Braid Hair Tutorial
Last
Summer, the waterfall braid was our most popular style so this year we
are turning our attentions to the double waterfall braid! Braids are
still a huge trend for the Summer months, but the styles are getting
more and more intricate and detailed. :) The popularity of the waterfall
braid has meant this style has been cropping up loads and with lots of
variations. One of our favourite variations is the double waterfall
braid so we thought we’d treat you to a hair tutorial for this cute
style! :) Step OneFit
your Headkandy hair extensions as normal. Personally, I think that this
style looks perfect with mermaid style waves! So style your hair
whether you’re going curly, wavy or straight before starting your braid.
Step TwoFor
this braid you need to take a small section of hair from the top
section of your hair, angling the hair up from your ear. Sperate this
into 3 sections.Step ThreeBegin
by doing a normal braid. Angle your hands so that your hair is moving
towards the back of your head and not down the side of your face for the
next step.Step FourBefore
you move your top section over to the middle once again, you will need
to pick up a little more of the loose hair from right beside the
section, combine this with that section and fold over the middle
section.Step FiveNow,
instead of folding the bottom section over the middle you should drop
that hair and pick up the section of loose hair from underneath this
dropped section. Step SixFollow
these steps until you have gone all around your head and braid the hair
to the end. You can use this braid to start the next. :)Step SevenTo
do the second waterfall braid you can follow the steps above, but when you are
picking up hair to include to your top row, try and pick up the dropped
sections from the braid above as this gives a lovely effect. :) Weave
in some flowers or ribbons for a super girly feel to the look. This
style is great for parties, a day at the beach or the perfect holiday
style...we’d love to see if you give this a go! Upload your pics to our
Facebook page so we can take a look.

Made In Chelsea Hairstyles
We're sad that this season’s MIC has finished :( so we thought we’d do a quick roundup
of our favourite Made In Chelsea hairstyles to hold on to the MIC love!! There are quite a fair
few ladies on Made In Chelsea, but our favourites stand out a mile with their
forever glossy and immaculate hair; we just HAD to do a little blog on
them!! Now
to begin, a firm favourite of ours has GOT to be Natalie Joel! With
hair like hers we are pretty much green with envy. Natalie Joel’s hair
is lusciously long and super thick we just LOVE it. We’re a little
unsure as to whether or not she’s had help from some hair extensions?!
Whatever the case, her Made in Chelsea hairstyle is simply stunning!! We
love how Natalie keeps it simple with her hair; it’s either straight or
wavy with boho-like curls — a typical Made In Chelsea hairstyle. She
obviously takes good care of her hair and doesn’t over style it to keep
it in perfect condition. So, ladies, if you’re looking for healthy hair,
lay off the heat styling and jazz up with your hair with cutesy braids
to keep bang-on-trend whilst giving your hair some rest and
recuperation!We
have also fallen in L.O.V.E. with Natalie Joel’s hair shade; with a
light caramel blonde on top and a darker shadow towards the ends of her
hair, we think this shade is pretty unique at the moment, but we have
our bets on it becoming a hot trend in the coming months! You heard it
here first....;)
Our
next lovely lady who we are a little bit fond of is the marvellous
Millie Mackintosh! She’s becoming quite the style queen and we adore her
sense of style — so chic and girly. But another thing we’re besotted
with is...her hair!! Of course! Millie Mackintosh’s hair is always
beautifully glossy and styled to perfection almost EVERY time we see
her! Reveal your secret Millie!! We
love Millie’s hair when it’s styled with curls towards the ends of her
hair and flicked out around her face — another Made In Chelsea Hairstyle
which we adore! Millie is a bit more extravagant with her hairstyles
and does tend to mix it up a little! She’s not scared of trying
something new and we think she pulls of pretty much all of the looks she
has gone for, whether it is a slick back high ponytail or a cute updo,
Millie can do no wrong with her hair in our eyes! <3Millie
Mackintosh is also a fond lover of some hair extensions from time to
time, we think she looks AH-MAZING with longer hair and we love the
curls in this shot too! We’d love to see her more often with longer hair
as we think she looks incredible! BIG thumbs up from us Mille!!
And
last, but by no means least, is the chic and cool as a cucumber, Caggie
Dunlop! Caggie makes an appearance in and out of MIC due to touring
with her band, but we have a little soft spot for her and her hair so we
had to include her! Caggie’s hair kind of mirrors her best pal Millie's
hair as it appears to be cut in the same sort of style, however it is lighter than Millie’s and Caggie isn’t afraid of letting her hair look a
little messy! We do love a little messiness from time to time! Caggie
Dunlop tends to style her hair with boho beach waves which is another
hot Made In Chelsea hairstyle we are loving, especially as the Summer is
fast approaching we can see plenty of lovely ladies rocking this
hairstyle on the beach. So chic and simple too! We will definitely be
taking this hairstyle on our holidays with us!! Updos
are another fond favourite of Caggie Dunlop and another Made In Chelsea
hairstyle which gets our seal of approval. Whether she neatly styles
them up with a quiff or quickly puts a messy bun on top of her head,
Caggie pulls it off! We adore Caggie Dunlop’s effortless look and the
fact that she gives her hair a break from all the styling from time to
time! A girl after our own heart, putting her hair first! ♥♥
Which
of the MIC girls is your favourite? Any others you think should be
included in the blog? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or
pop over to the HeadKandy Facebook to share your thoughts. :)

Kate Middleton's Hair at the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
Kate
Middleton’s hair looked absolutely perfect for the Diamond Jubilee
celebrations over the bank holiday and we were LOVING her outfit choices
too. Over the course of the celebrations we saw Kate opt for some
Jubilee themed shades with her dresses; she appeared in red, cream and
blue outfits and they all looked incredible on her!
For
the pageant on Sunday, Kate appeared in a stunning red Alexandra
McQueen dress with a matching Lock & Co hat; the dress was nipped in
at the waist with a gorgeous knee length, pleated skirt and it proved
to be the perfect choice for the pageant. Kate Middleton’s hair was
styled half-up and half-down with natural movement through the ends of
her hair; this style looked gorgeous with her red hat too. This was our
favourite look on Kate; we thought the red dress was just amazing. Our
second favourite Kate look from the celebrations was for the Queen’s
thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s cathedral. Kate wore a nude lace
dress, also by Alexandra McQueen, with a matching hat from Jane Taylor.
The Duchess looked ever so angelic; it was a lovely look for her. We
LOVED Kate Middleton’s hair style to match this dress though and this
was probably our fave of her hair styles from the bank holiday weekend.
Kate’s hair was again styled half-up and half-down, but her hair was
pinned into a messy bow at the back of her head. This looked super cute …
we LOVE!! Her hair had a little more curl and movement through the ends
for this look … just perfect. :) Kate
chose a high street outfit for her appearance at the Diamond Jubilee
concert; she wore a cute blue and purple Whistles dress and wore her
hair in traditional Kate style; her locks were styled with an off-centre
parting with lots of volume and movement. Her hair looked fantastic.
We
thoroughly enjoyed all of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations here at
HeadKandy, but we were loving Kate Middleton’s hair and her gorgeous
dresses even more! What did you think of Kate Middleton’s hair for the
celebrations and which was your fave style? Leave us a comment or head
over to Facebook to let us know. :)

Royal Crown Braid Hair Tutorial
The
royal crown braid is certainly a style fit for a princess or a queen
and what hairstyle would be more fitting for the Diamond Jubilee
festivities over the weekend? This braid incorporates tips from our
previous tutorials for the Milk Maid Braid and French Braid but also
includes a few new tricks! This style is perfect for summer as it keeps
all your hair away from your face, even if you have a bang/fringe this
can be tucked into the braid! Step OneIf
you’re using your hair extensions for added volume, I would advise
fitting these upside down and personally I think your Quad Weft and just
one 3 clip weft would be enough for this style. Fit these roughly
around ear height before you start.Step TwoTo
create the royal crown braid you need to use an inside out french
braiding technique...don’t worry about this as it isn’t as tricky as it
may sound and gives a gorgeous look as the braid will appear more
prominent! I find starting above the ear easiest as you can see what you
are creating! Section your hair from ear to ear as it will be the front
section you will be braiding first.Step ThreeTo
create the inside out braid look all you need to do is pass the hair
underneath the previous section whereas you would normally position this
over the top! So using the same technique from the French Braid
tutorial simply incorporate some of loose hair with each section and
angle the braid around the front of your hairline.Step FourOnce
you have incorporated all the front section of hair you need to
continue the royal crown braid around your head. You should have enough
hair to continue using the sections from the front. This can be a little
tricky to see how your braid is looking so using a mirror behind and
one in front can really help you see what you're doing!!Step FiveOnce
all your hair has been french braided you should have a complete ring
of braided locks all the way around your head. If you have loads of hair
left you have two options...you can either keep braiding this and wrap
this inside of the crown braid you have already created or you can
secure your braid at the join and use the ends of your hair to smooth
out the section of hair inside your braid. This
royal crown braid hairstyle looks stunning and super girly for any of
your Summer occasions...why not braid in a ribbon, add in a daisy chain
or, especially for the Jubilee, some red, white, and blue bows!! :) We’d
love to know if you attempt this hairstyle....add some pics to our
Facebook page so we can take a look. :)

Red Carpet Hairstyles at the Glamour Awards
As
we all know (well most of us should know, and shame on those who don’t
know!!) the Glamour Awards took place on Tuesday night and the stars
came out in force with their fabulous red carpet hairstyles!! With hair
styled to perfection and outfits to be envied by any designer wardrobe, we
just HAD to do a quick round up to show you all!!
So
lets begin with Jessie J, who won the award for Solo Artist of the
year! Wohoo! Not only can she ‘do it like a dude’, she looks incredible
when she plays the lady role too!! We are absolutely in love with her
little 1920’s inspired black Julien Macdonald dress which stole the show
at the awards. Teamed with subtle dark makeup and a elegant updo, Jessie
looked like such a starlet! We are raving over her super elegant red
carpet hair style … we very much approve of this look Jessie! Eva
Longoria stayed bang-on-trend with her red carpet hairstyle and
attended the awards with a high ponytail in tow … along with her neon orange, fitted dress, which was designed by one of her pals, the one
and only Victoria Beckham!! Love love love the dress, but we love Eva
Longoria's hair even more! Hair worn in a high ponytail is a winner in
our eyes at the moment, so on trend; Especially when styled with a few
curls for extra oomph and texture! J’adore for sure! So easy to recreate
too...Give it a whirl :)
Sofia
Vergara brought some va va voom to the awards with her lovely long
tousled locks which complimented her red dress perfectly! We think she
looked super duper HOT and we love how her red carpet hair is styled.
Subtle curls were added at the front to help frame her face and we love
how it softened up her whole look yet still added texture and sexiness
at the same time! This is another hot look at the moment and we would
definitely recommend you try giving this look a go!!
Another
look we are reaaally loving has got to be Kelly Rowland!! She looked
absolutely dazzling in a floor length silk gown and her red carpet
hairstyle looked in impeccable condition. We love the simple straight
styling and how thick Kelly’s hair looked; even though it was near
enough poker straight it still managed to look textured! If this is
something which you would love to re-create then why not use your HeadKandy hair extensions to thicken up your hair! So quick and easy to
add some extra oomph!
 And
finallyyyy we have Little Mix!! Yup, they’re back, complete with a
makeover and we are BIG fans of Jessy’s and Leanne’s darker hair! Loving
the shade change! Jessy looked lovely with her usual tumbling long
waves and Perri had her normal cutesy curled hair which we absolutely
adore! Jade opted for a updo instead of her wavy hair which we are all
used to seeing but we think she looked great with the updo too! Leanne’s
hair has GOT to be our favourite though, loooooooooving the volume, the
side parting and all the curls!! Just lovely. If you’re a fan of this
look too add some hair extensions to make your hair super thick so you
can have LOTS of cute curls :). Easy peasy! <3
There
were so many other beauties from the Glamour Awards we found it hard
whittling it down, who were all of your favourites? Any styles you’d
like to give a go too? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us
with your thoughts :) <3

Celebrity Hairstyles at the Billboard Music Awards
As
one of the biggest events in the music world, the Billboard Music
Awards is always the perfect opportunity for the stars to strut their
stuff in glamorous gowns and showcase their eye-catching celebrity
hairstyles, and this year was no exception with the celebs pulling out
all the stops!One
of our fave celebrity hairstyles this year was worn by the gorgeous
Carrie Underwood; her blonde locks were styled into voluminous curls and
her hair looked gorgeously thick and full of bounce! Carrie Underwood’s
hairstyle complemented her princess-like Oscar De La Renta gown
perfectly ... we LOVE!You
need oodles of volume if you want to re-create Carrie’s fabulous
celebrity hairstyle, so add lots of root lift before you start styling
and try using an extra Quad Weft alongside your full head of hair
extensions if you want that extra OOMPH!Another
celebrity hairstyle that packed a voluminous punch was Miley Cyrus’ new
‘do! Miley’s bobbed cut looked amazing styled with lots and lots of root
lift and some natural movement. We are loving the ombre shade of Miley Cyrus’
hair at the moment too! We weren’t so keen on Miley’s outfit choice for
the red carpet though; she appeared in a Jean Paul Gaultier white blazer
... and nothing else ... hmm!Katy
Perry’s celebrity hair style at the Billboard Music Awards was styled
with vintage-inspired curls and a deep side parting; this is a look that
works really well for the lovely Katy Perry and it looked gorgeous with
her purple hues too. Katy Perry matched her purple locks with purple lippie
and a lilac Blumarine gown that made her look like a mermaid ... only
Katy could pull that off! Katy Perry’s hair never fails to impress us on the red carpet!!Taylor
Swift and Carly Rae Jepsen both opted for super sleek celebrity hair
styles with full fringes; Taylor Swift’s hair looked stunning and we
think the full fringe works really well for her too! We’re most used to
seeing Taylor Swift with curls and waves in her hair so it was lovely to
see her hair worn super straight. Carly Rae Jepsen’s hair looked
gorgeously shiny and healthy, and we just LOVE her bold fringe, but we
would like to see her hair with a little more thickness and volume! So,
those were our fave celebrity hair styles from the Billboard Music
Awards, but what do you guys think? Do you agree with our choices or
were you loving someone else’s look? Leave us a comment or head over to
the HeadKandy Twitter to tweet us with you reply!

Britney Spears' Hair X Factor USA
X
factor USA is returning and we couldn't be happier with the line up of
judges and the fact we get to spy on Britney Spears’ hair! OF.COURSE.Alongside Britney on the X Factor US panel will be: Simon Cowell, LA Reid and Demi Lovato (another one we can’t wait to spy on!!)The
first day of filming saw Britney pull out all the stops by wearing a
showstopping, tight fitting, bright pink dress which clung to her in all
the right places! We think she is looking amazing! Britney Spears’ hair
was also looking much thicker than we had seen it a week or so before
filming started; since the announcement was made that she was to feature
in the show it looks as though Britney Spears’ hair has been given a
little bit more va va voom from some hair extensions and we couldn’t
approve more. <3We’re
loving the shade of her hair and love it even more in comparison with
her dress! Britneys Spears’ hair was styled into voluptuous curls which
we adore, and think is a much better choice than her poker straight hair
which she was seen with previously! To
style your hair like Britney's be sure to use a large barrelled curling
tong to ensure you are left with big bouncy curls which rival Britney
Spears’ hair, comb through afterwards and spritz with some styling spray
to hold your curls. And voila, you have picture perfect hair. <3So
is it finally fair to say that Britney’s Back B*****? Are you loving
her hair? Think it's her time to shine again? Let us know your thoughts
in the comments below or pop along to the HeadKandy Facebook page.

Cheryl Cole's Hair at Cannes
We
were pretty blown away by Cheryl Cole’s hair and her fabulous dress as
she appeared on the red carpet at Cannes over the weekend; the star
certainly guaranteed that all eyes were on her for the event and she’s
been making headlines since!!
Cheryl
Cole’s hair, which is now back to its trademark brunette shade, was
styled effortlessly into loose waves for Cannes; her hair was kept with a
soft centre parting with the fringe falling either side … the style was
super feminine without being too stylised … it was very Kate Middleton ... we loved it!!
And
that dress … WOW! Following in Beyonce's footsteps with a feathered
dress, Cheryl Cole graced the red carpet in a white Stéphane Rolland
Haute Couture gown with a red feathered train. Cheryl’s outfit choice
was certainly glamorous, but the low cut back and the snug fit added a
super sexy feel too!
 We
love that Cheryl Cole’s hair is now back to its sumptuous chocolate
brown shade and we think the simple styling for Cannes worked perfectly
with her eye-catching dress. She managed to keep her hair glam without
over styling and this was just what was needed to complement that
impressive gown! You can’t deny that this lady certainly knows how to
make an entrance, and despite having just a small role in one film, she
made one BIG impact at Cannes and worked the cameras like a true star!
What
do you think of Cheryl Cole’s hair at Cannes and what about that dress?
Do you love her look as much as we do? Tell us in the comment box below
or head over to the HeadKandy Facebook page.
