There’s been
lots of award ceremony hair to look out for this February. We’re in our element
with all the red carpet events as it’s given us loads of great hair to talk
about at HeadKandy HQ ... here are our
picks of the top styles and tips on how to re-create them with your own clip in
hair extensions.
The 2011
Grammy Awards – February 13th 2011
Katy Perry
was wearing a gorgeous dress for the award ceremony and we just LOVED her
glitzy purple and green eye make-up!!
She had
gorgeous soft curls in her hair which complimented her whole look really well.
If you have
dark hair like Katy, then a 16-18” or 20-22” full head in Soho would be perfect
for re-creating her look yourself. Use a jumbo curling iron to achieve those
big romantic curls!

Similarly,
Selena Gomez wore long soft curls for the Grammies – this style is huge this
year so the girls are band on trend! 20-22” extensions in Espresso would be the
closest match for Selena or to re-create the subtle highlights, Iced Coffee
would be fab!! Add some curls with a 24mm curling tong and gently brush them
through to loosen them slightly.
We love Miley
Cyrus’ BRonde look from the red carpet! Get Miley’s uber length with a 24-26”
full head and add some loose curls with your flat irons. Pin back a section of
the hair from each side and secure with a cute clip!
The 2011
BAFTA Awards – February 13th 2011
Actress Amy
Adams wore a beautiful beaded dress for the BAFTA awards and her hair carried
natural curls. If you’re a red head like Amy then shades St Tropez or Spiced
Auburn could work well for you!
Re-create
Amy’s gorgeous curls with a 24mm curling tong and brush the curls through to
soften them. Use a hairspray safe for use with hair extensions to hold the
style in place!

Bonnie Wright
went super straight with her gorgeous red hair for the BAFTA’s. A 16-18” full
head would be best for Bonnie’s look. Apply a good quality heat protection
treatment to your own hair and your hair extensions and then use your flat
irons for a straight and sleek look. Take sections of hair from above the ears
and pin them back to create a half-up half-down look!
The 2011
BRIT Awards – February 15th 2011
Cheryl Cole
looked stunning for the red carpet in a sexy backless black sequined dress with
a thigh-high split. We loved her smokey cat’s eyes and her updo with a fashion
ponytail ... FAB!!

To get this
unique ‘do part your hair all the way around leaving a 2 inch perimeter below
the parted hair line.
Pull the hair
above the hairline upwards, angled backwards, and apply hairspray. Backcomb the
hair for volume before adding more hairspray to form a nest.
Use your
remaining natural hair and brush it back over the nest of hair you have created
and secure it underneath with a bobble so you have a short ponytail left at the
back of the head.
Select 2 or 3
hair extension wefts (depending on how much hair you want for your fashion
pony!) and clip these onto your natural ponytail, wrapping them around 2 or 3
times.
Paloma Faith also
caught our attention with her oversized fashion hair-bow and her long red
locks! To create a curl at the ends of your 20-22” extensions, use heated
rollers on just the ends of the extensions, but be sure not to leave them on
for too long. This should give you a gorgeous kink like Paloma!
Select an
oversized hair accessory to really set this style off!

And the
winner is...
There was
some gorgeous hair for the award ceremonies this month, but we think Cheryl
Cole really stole the limelight with her unique up-do! She stood out from the
crowd of lose curls and really made a statement with a hairstyle that was a
little bit different!!
